Welcome to My AICE Media Studies Blog!
Every Aice Media Studies class I attend furthers my direction into finding out more about myself. My name is Nickayla, and discovering my passion in producing media material was the most life changing aspect in my life. Since elementary school, I have found myself captivated in creating media. Whether it was a classroom poster, or editing short films on my tablet, Ideas were perpetual. The opportunity of having a Media studies class not only allows me to take my first step in the craft of the industry, but also increases my awareness on the impact media has created on my everyday thoughts and actions. After further reflection, I assessed that my favorite form of media consumption is editing software; specifically, adobe after effects. Being able to share my filmwork to others and building an audience keeps me motivated to conquer complex problems. Using what I learn in other media consuming habits like reading books, and listening to informative radio stations employ me in good responses to various situations. When listening intently, I am able to indulge in flexibility, metacognition, precise language, and much more, which I believe is why so many teenagers my age have experienced these forms of media as well. This all ties back to my media studies class, and what tools I hope I can use in the real world. My class teaches me how to analyze on a professional level several types of media, as well as creating my own form. Lastly, the most engaging thing I find about Media studies is that I am working on creating a film, which I present to you here!
In this blog, I will present my ethics in producing a film. That includes: the plan, procedure, and information I’ve received to take action. But first: What movie am I making? While in the early steps of filmmaking, I am determined to manufacture a thriller film, targeted for teenagers, and enlighten viewers about the greater dangers of staying after hours on school grounds. This moving picture depicts a student vlogging their experience spending 24 hours inside of her campus, without any protocol nor supervision amongst the staff. Theprotagonist builds suspense from avoiding being caught by security during the night, and diverts the attention of what’s really out on the hunt for irresponsible kids; which inevitably is the villain. Though to grow this sprouting idea, I must use my Media Studies class to learn the semiotic art famous filmmakers use to engage their audience. Being able to contrast the connotation and dictation of each strategy a producer uses can assist me in using the effects of reception in my film. Knowing that you’re of course fully invested in this masterpiece, I am ecstatic to reveal that my media piece will be released subsequently from Christmas!
“Good fortune is what happens when opportunity meets with planning.”Quoted by Thomas Edison. To produce my film along with this documentation, I have to propose ideas and use all the techniques I am extending my knowledge about in my Media Studies class. This includes 4 tactics to go on a successful route; Using semiotic art in my creation, Learning how to direct and write a script, Appealing my project towards the audience, and most critically, I will visually story tell a film that focuses on action as equal as dialogue. I will follow up with these strategies by gathering and developing the finest film crew in my Media Studies class! Utilizing this blog post, I will use these strategies independently, assured that I will cohese a high score for this media due to its coordinated-serene method!
