Mise en scene Preliminary Exercise (Activity 3): Setting & Set Design

Image
10/31/2022 A Comprehensive Blog Post for Preliminary Exercise    During this portion of the exercise, I learned how to analyze the setting of a scene from my chosen film. The media I created is a settings discussion chart , and to craft this material, I used google slides, followed by gathering my information from skimming the film 'It 2', released on September 6th, 2022 found on Netflix. My partners Su-Young, Julien, and I used our personal laptops, which made it a swift process to design & report information onto the slide. Obstacle that we encountered during this exercise was choosing who was responsible for writing each paragraph. We were able to overcome this obstacle by noting our responsibilities: Su-Young did the description, I completed the Social-economic status, and Julien did the Cultural Moral values, along with the time period!     During the pre production of a film, it is crucial to have the elements of setting noted in order to  use cl...

My partners Su-Young, Julien, and I used our personal laptops, which made it a swift process to design & report information onto the slide. However, one hitch that we encountered during this exercise was choosing who was responsible for the way the chart looked. We were able to overcome this obstacle by noting our responsibilities. I was responsible for finding the frame which will be examined, Julien was responsible for ...

Preliminary Exercise 4: Analyzing Setting for National Lampoon's European Vacation PowerPoint Presentation

When characters are engaging in a scene, they are placed inside a specific setting. In a film, the setting is the area where an event takes place. Along with many aspects- plot, setting, characters, and themes make up the key factors of a film. As a film producer, I value the protagonist as the predominant element in my piece. Not only does the protagonist interact with each component, but also is the main factor that is creating the plotline of the story. On the other hand, setting is an important mise en scene element because it is the most pointed out way for the director to adhere to what he/she is trying to create, and increases the imaginative cognition.      In this exercise, me and my partner were instructed to watch a video and evaluate the elements of setting in the given piece. In the short film, Americans were presented as a laughing stock visiting Britain, compared to the English people who the Americans encountered, who h...
