A genre of a movie is a category referring to a specific style of composition. This may be favorited depending on a persons preference. Semiotics is the basic term for understanding the signs, symbols, and importance of a key factor provided in the story. In this lesson, I learned to identify the differences between the denotative and connotative aspects of something; denotation, being the exact meaning of a word, and connotation, being the feeling you receive from that word, this is the theory that Ronaldo Barthes develop,  a well known  French literary theorist, essayist, philosopher, critic, and semiotician . In theory, a rose may be identified as a flower; however, can be seen as a romantic gesture, more so associat...

Whether it was a classroom poster, or editing short films on my tablet, Ideas were perpetual. The opportunity of having a Media studies class not only allows me to take my first step in the craft of the industry, but also increases my awareness on the impact media has created on my everyday thoughts and actions. After further reflection, I assessed that my favorite form of media consumption is editing software; specifically, adobe after effects. Being able to share my filmwork to others and building an audience keeps me motivated to conquer complex problems. Using what I learn in other media consuming habits like reading books, and listening to informative radio stations employ me in good ...
